Background

   PowerWorks Industries (PWI)'s mission is Developing People, Changing Lives, Building Communities. PWI currently provides contracted custodial and grounds maintenance services for two military installations: The Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) in Albany, GA and Fort Benning, the U.S. Army Maneuver Center of Excellence, in Ft. Benning, GA. These federal contracts, set aside through the Javits-Wagner O'Day Act, require that at least 75% of the hourly wages go to workers with a documented disability. In 2010, 84% of PWI's team members were disabled. Disabilities are varied. Some are congenital and others happen later in life. Regardless, meaningful work helps people with significant disabilities achieve extraordinary potential.

   Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc. (GWISR) provides administrative support, case management, and placement services for our team members. Case Managers who are on-site daily meet one-on-one to assist team members with progress on mutually identified goals. PowerWorks Industries and GWISR share the same vision for people to be empowered with skills and opportunities, living fulfilled lives.
